Hello, my name is Gillian "Jill" Cooper and I am your host at The Bright Side of Life.

As a Registered Nurse my career has taken me near and far to many an Emergency/Trauma Center, A & E or Casualty department, out to work with the Yaqui Indians in Mexico and up to work with the people of Maningrida and Oenpelli in Arnhem Land.

I have Nursed up in the air in Colorado and out in the bush of Australia. I have worked in Intensive Care Units, Oncology Units, Cardiac Care Units, Paediatric units, Community Health Centres and Mental Health units, as well as having extensive Emergency experience.

So how you may ask, did I end up here and doing this? I have had the pleasure of caring for many incredible people both as a Registered Nurse and as a friend and family member. No two people have reacted in exactly the same way to a diagnosis or ongoing illness but, almost all have at some point verbalized searching for peace and understanding.

My Mum is a Breast Cancer Survivor and between her chemotherapy and radiation we went out to the mountains for some "Nature Therapy". Being amongst huge trees, walking along rushing rivers and just sitting amongst the rocks, we were able to contemplate what it meant to each of us to be alive today. It was then that my dream was clarified - to create a place, outside of the hospital, where people can really take a moment to see and feel the "quality in life" .

I hope that you will come and let me, and my experienced staff, share with you in the bright side of life.
